12 Best Apple TV Shows Of All Time, Ranked
I have just about every streaming app you can imagine. But honestly, Apple TV Shows is my absolute favorite. There, quality comes before quantity. It may not have a million shows, but almost everything on it is really good. I can count on one hand the shows I’ve started but haven’t finished watching. It’s just that good.
Picking the best shows since the platform launched in 2019 is a really tough task. Shows like The Morning Show and For All Mankind were the big trailblazers. They’re amazing. But so many cool shows have come out since then. That makes choosing the best ones pretty hard. Each one stands out for its own unique reason.
You might be wondering why you should listen to me. Well, I’ve been a subscriber since day one. I’ve watched almost every single show on the platform. I’ve been writing about TV for over a decade now. I love everything from silly comedies to creepy thrillers. I really watch everything.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
“Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed” (2026–): I was really excited about this series because I love Tatiana Maslany from “Orphan Black.” She was great, and so was the series. It’s about a single mom who just got divorced. There’s a murdered cam boy, a crazy scam, and a dangerous killer. It’s the perfect mix of funny and creepy. You should check it out if you like both.
“Trying” (2020–present): This is one of those hidden gems on Apple TV. It’s about a couple, Nikki and Jason, who are having trouble conceiving a baby. They decide to adopt a child. The series shows all the real-life challenges they go through. It feels so authentic. That’s why so many people love it.
“Platonic” (2023–present): Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen are an incredibly funny duo on screen. They play two best friends from college who reconnect after Will gets divorced. They immediately fall back into their old habits. You can see how much has changed and how much has stayed the same. The series is great if you’re in your middle years. You’ll definitely see yourself in their friendship.
Murderbot (2025): Alexander Skarsgård is so funny in this. He plays a security robot who’s totally expressionless. He’s not human, but he’s basically hacked himself to develop feelings. He’s actually supposed to just work, but all he wants to do is watch TV. It’s a very lighthearted and entertaining series that’s great to binge-watch.
MYTHIC QUEST (2020–2025)
This series is about a video game studio trying to develop a new expansion for its big game. Ian Grimm is the boss and Poppy Li is the lead engineer. The two often argue about how to move forward. It’s a truly entertaining look into the world of video games.
It feels like a modern office comedy. An absolute paradise for nerds. Even though the series was canceled after four seasons, the story continued with a spin-off called Side Quest. Check it out if you love tech and funny shows about everyday work life. Give it a pass if office comedies bore you.
STAR CITY (2026–PRESENT)
This is a spin-off of “For All Mankind”. Viewers love it just as much as the original series. It tells the story of the space race from the Soviet Union’s perspective. The focus is on a designer named Sergei Korolev. It involves plenty of espionage and secret government affairs. Someone has stolen the plans for a lunar base.
It’s a great mix of political drama and authentic human stories. You should check it out if you like alternative history. If you want a 100% true story, you might want to skip this series.
SERVANT (2019–2023)
This was one of the first series on the platform. It brings M. Night Shyamalan’s style to your TV. It’s a creepy series about a couple who hire a nanny for their baby. But wait a minute—the baby is actually a doll. From there, things get really weird and creepy.
It’s about cults and supernatural phenomena. You spend the whole time trying to figure out what’s real. If you like his movies, you’ll enjoy this. If you don’t like him, you’re better off skipping this.
YOUR FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS (2025–PRESENT)
Jon Hamm is a huge hit on TV right now. This might be his best role since “Mad Men.” He plays a hedge fund manager named Coop who loses his job. He can’t find a new one, so he starts stealing from his rich friends. It’s a dark, funny crime series.
The best part is listening to him talk about his neighbors. He thinks their luxurious lifestyles are completely ridiculous. You’ll find yourself rooting for the villain. Check out the series if you like Jon Hamm. Give it a pass if the premise seems too outlandish.
SLOW HORSES (2022–PRESENT)
Gary Oldman is a huge movie star, but he’s also fantastic in this series. It’s a British spy story. The spies are all misfits who work at a place called “Slough House.” They don’t have much to do because they’re too risky for real missions. Gary Oldman is their boss, and he’s a grumpy guy.
When they get caught up in a major case, they finally get the chance to show what they’re made of. Each season is short and action-packed. It just keeps getting better and better. Check it out if you like spy thrillers. You might want to skip it if you don’t want to commit to a long series, since there are already many seasons.
PLURIBUS (2025–PRESENT)
I had a feeling this would be a huge hit, and I was right. It’s a series about the end of the world from the creator of “Breaking Bad.” A virus has turned everyone into a collective consciousness. They’re all calm and peaceful, but they can no longer think for themselves—with the exception of a few people like Carol, who is immune.
It makes you wonder whether peace is worth losing your mind for. It’s a very profound and wild series. The ending will shock you. Check out this series if you like unique science fiction stories. Skip it if you’ve had enough of apocalyptic series.
SHRINKING (2023–PRESENT)
This series comes from the creators of “Ted Lasso”. It’ll make you laugh and cry. Jimmy is a therapist who lost his wife in a car accident. He tries to help his daughter while also dealing with his own grief. He doesn’t always do a great job of it, though.
This series is all about family and friends. The cast is fantastic. The series is very funny, but sometimes also very sad. Check it out if you like “Ted Lasso.” You might want to skip it if you don’t want to watch anything dealing with heavy topics like grief.
THE STUDIO (2025–PRESENT)
It’s been a long time since I’ve laughed this hard at a series. It’s a comedy about Hollywood. Seth Rogen plays a studio executive. He has to deal with crazy actors and directors all day long. The series shows just how strange the movie business really is.
It’s an entertaining look behind the scenes. If you like Seth Rogen, you’ll love this series. If you don’t like his silly humor, you’re better off giving this one a pass.
SILO (2023–PRESENT)
The series is based on some great books. The story is about people living in a massive underground silo after the outside world has become uninhabitable. It’s a mix of mystery and science fiction.
It’s all about control and secrets. The main character starts asking questions she really shouldn’t be asking. The series is very dark and gripping. Check it out if you like survival stories. Give it a pass if you’re looking for something lighthearted and cheerful.
