Sterling Point S1 Why Everyone Is Watching This Amazing Series
Hi, everyone! There’s a super-cool new series sterling point s1 on Prime Video that everyone’s already talking about. It just came out this week and is already getting really good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes—both from critics and from regular fans watching it at home. It’s always fun to discover a new series you just can’t stop watching, isn’t it?
Prime Video was very active throughout 2026. A whole host of series were released, including “Steal,” “Young Sherlock,” “Off Campus,” “Every Year After,” “Sterling Point,” “Bait,” “Elle,” and “Ride or Die.” Some of them are on the major U.S. Top 10 list. “Ride or Die” is currently in first place. The series right behind it at number two is the one I’m talking about: “Sterling Point S1.” It was released on August 5, and the ratings look great. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has an audience score of 86% and a critic score of 92%. That’s a really strong start. It’s still too early to know if there will be a second season, but so far, it definitely looks promising.
So what do people actually think of it? Fans online are calling the series charming and funny. They seem to really like the script and the cast. Some even said it’s one of the best teen series out there right now. It’s nice to hear that people are enjoying it so much.
Critics liked it, too. They said the writers didn’t just copy the same old stories about high school students that we usually see. They said the characters are likable and the series is perfect for escaping everyday life for a while. Our colleague Rianna de Bono-Smith watched the series and said that while it starts off a bit chaotic, it definitely finds its rhythm toward the end. She thinks the series shows why Prime Video is a great place to go when you’re looking for a good teen drama.
The main character is Annie Jacobson, played by Ella Rubin. In the story, her grandfather dies and leaves her a mysterious island in Canada. She travels there, and once she arrives, she begins to uncover all these strange family secrets. During this big journey, she makes new friends and even experiences a little romance. It sounds like an entertaining mystery.
Ella Rubin has already appeared in many productions. She starred in “Fear Street: Prom Queen” and in the Oscar-winning film “Anora.” She’s also had roles in “The Chair,” “Gossip Girl,” and “The Girl From Plainville.” She has definitely worked hard.
“Sterling Point S1” also features many other actors. They include Amélie Hoeferle, Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Bo Bragason, Keen Ruffalo, Mabel Strachan, Missi Pyle, Jay Duplass, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. I was surprised to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s name, since he’s also starring in the third season of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” on AMC. This guy really is everywhere!
The series was created by Megan Park. She is an actress but has also begun directing, having helmed the films “The Fallout” and “My Old Ass.” She has also appeared in series such as “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” She collaborated with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage on the series’ production. They also received support from producers such as Tom Ackerley and Dani Gorin.
The first season consists of eight episodes. They were all released at once on Prime Video, so you can watch them all in one go at your leisure. Megan Park directed four of these episodes, including the first and the last. She also contributed to the screenplays for three episodes. She really put a lot of herself into this project.
Since the series has just been released, there is no information yet on whether there will be a second season. But Ella Rubin said in an interview that she’d love to return if the streaming service gives her the green light. We’ll just have to wait and see how the viewership numbers pan out.
