Marvel has finally given us a first look at x men jean grey new costume, and it’s going to fundamentally change the series. Jean Grey returns to Earth after a long stay in space, and her new outfit tells us a lot about her future. It’s a bold move that’s sparking discussion among fans, especially since her return comes during a particularly turbulent time for the X-Men.
The original team consisted of Scott Summers as Cyclops, Jean Grey as Marvel Girl, Bobby Drake as Iceman, Warren Worthington III as Angel, and Hank McCoy as Beast. They’ve all changed a lot since then. Scott is now the leader of the mutants, and Hank has become a pretty intimidating figure who has essentially taken Magneto’s place as the champion of mutant supremacy. The situation is coming to a head.
Currently, Cyclops and Beast are heading toward a massive battle as part of the DNX event. Marvel has made it clear that only one of them will survive. Once the dust settles after this battle, Jean Grey will take on a completely new role. This will mean a massive change for the entire team.
JEAN GREY OF THE X-MEN UNVEILS NEW COSTUME
Marvel has just announced a new Jean Grey comic series written by Jed MacKay and Rogê Antônio. The cover looks fantastic. It shows Jean in a bright yellow-and-blue outfit that reminds everyone of her classic ’90s style—including the cool shoulder pads and hood. There’s also a small “X” logo on her chest that closely resembles the one Cyclops wears as leader of the Alaskan X-Men.
For several years, Jean had been traveling through space. She was all-powerful and wore a black-and-gold costume while connected to the Phoenix Force. Now that she’s returning home, her new look gives the impression that she’s shedding that identity as a cosmic deity. She’s ready for something new.
The description of her first issue sounds exciting. It says she “burns upon reentry” following the events of DNX. The Phoenix is coming to Earth, and Jean is right in the middle of it. We wonder: Will she be able to control this wild, life-giving force? Or will she become too dangerous to be around? Everyone can’t wait to find out.
THE MOST POWERFUL X-MEN HEROINE IS OFFICIALLY RETURNING TO EARTH
Jean’s return is a big deal because she’s essentially the most powerful person in the world right now. During her journey through space, she battled gods and even brought her sister back to life. She’s essentially a cosmic being now. Bringing her back to Earth is a risky move for the writers.
There’s a good chance her powers will be toned down a bit. If she can simply alter reality at will, it’s difficult to write a story about her. Her new costume doesn’t feature any of the Phoenix symbols, which is a clear indication that she may be distancing herself from that cosmic aspect of her powers.
WILL JEAN GREY LEAD THE X-MEN?
There are plenty of rumors about what Jean will do next. Since Cyclops and Beast might end up killing each other, the team needs a new leader. It would make a lot of sense for Jean to take charge and lead the team from Alaska. Plus, the fact that she’s being written by Jed MacKay—who knows the X-Men inside and out—makes this very likely.
It’s also worth noting that Jean isn’t part of the upcoming “Maximum X-Men” series. In this series, Storm leads a team that essentially takes on the role of the Avengers. If Jean isn’t on this team, she must be busy with something else that’s just as important. It’s going to be a busy year for her.
