X-men magneto respect cyclops: Shocking New Comic Details Finally Revealed [Exclusive]
Magneto has been part of the X-Men universe since the very beginning. We first saw him as early as 1963, fighting Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Iceman, and Angel. While he was a persistent villain, he was also a leader and friend to the team. For this reason, the MAGNETO RESPECT CYCLOPS in the latest comics are actually quite interesting to watch. Recently, he spoke openly about who he truly respects and who he simply can’t stand.
MAGNETO RESPECT CYCLOPS, BUT HE’LL NEVER RESPECT WOLVERINE
In the new story “X-Men: Omega Red Dawn #1”, the team is on the hunt for Omega Red. The villain has kidnapped Professor X, so the situation is serious. Even though Magneto isn’t strictly speaking an X-Man at the moment, he decides to help anyway. He wants to save his old friend, Professor X, and prevent a chemical attack that would turn people violent.
The team wins the battle, which is great. Before he heads out, Magneto has a brief conversation with Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops. They’re honest with each other. Cyclops admits that he doesn’t really trust Magneto. Magneto concedes that he would have killed them all if they’d messed up and allowed Charles Xavier to come to harm in space.
In fact, however, they part on good terms. Magneto says that they may never trust each other, but he assures Cyclops that he has his respect. He respects him because Cyclops cares so much about Xavier, almost like a father figure. Magneto doesn’t feel the same way about Wolverine, though. Throughout the story, he repeatedly refers to Wolverine as a “dog.”
MAGNETO USUALLY HAS A HIGHER OPINION OF WOLVERINE
The way Wolverine is portrayed in this story is somewhat reminiscent of the old days. Back then, Magneto was almost always just the villain. That’s strange, because the two have had a long, tumultuous relationship over the years. Do you remember when Magneto ripped the metal from Wolverine’s bones? That was intense. Years later, Wolverine finally got his revenge by helping his son stab Magneto during “The Trial of Magneto”.
Despite all this hatred, Magneto has shown Logan respect in the past. In one famous story, he even called Wolverine his “most respected adversary.” He once even tasked Wolverine with taking out a villain from his past in Auschwitz. Calling him a “dog” now feels a little strange and doesn’t really fit with how they’ve been treating each other lately.
CYCLOPS’ FEELINGS TOWARD MAGNETO DON’T ALIGN WITH THE CURRENT STORYLINE
It’s not really new that Cyclops and Magneto admire each other. As far back as 2024, Magneto told Cyclops that he was a better leader for the team than Wolverine. He explained that Cyclops had the drive to see a task through to the end, while Wolverine was essentially immortal and would live forever. Over the past ten years, they’ve worked together a lot, especially when they founded a new school after the “Avengers vs. X-Men” conflict.
When they lived on the island of Krakoa, they were both leaders. Even now, after the island has disappeared, they’re still working together in the new X-Men comics. That’s why it sounds so strange when Cyclops says he’ll never trust Magneto. Maybe this new story is simply set in a different timeline or isn’t meant to be official canon.
However, the team will soon have their hands full. A major crossover event is coming up in November, in which they’ll have to team up with the Fantastic Four to stop a group of villains called 3K. We’ll also be seeing these characters on the big screen. We know that James Marsden and Ian McKellen will be returning for “Avengers: Doomsday”. It’ll be exciting to see how they bring these characters to life on the big screen.
