Attack on Titan release date: 5 Shocking Details Behind the Indefinite Delay [Finally Revealed]

I asked what was going on. Ben Applegate, head of the publishing division at Kodansha USA, spoke with the team at “Behind the Manga.” His answer was a bit vague, but it puts my mind at ease. He said there was a production issue that had brought the entire process to a standstill for the time being. He promised that fans will be notified of a new release date for the collection as soon as a decision is reached.

This comprehensive collection is said to be a great way to own the entire story by Hajime Isayama. It’s a collected edition, which means a lot of content is compiled in one place. It will feature a really cool faux-leather cover and a sophisticated library-style binding. It also features gold foil stamping on the front cover and several color pages exclusive to this North American edition. That sounds pretty fancy, doesn’t it?

Kodansha’s official description already reveals a lot about the story’s plot. Humans used to rule over everything. Then, about a hundred years ago, everything changed. The Titans appeared. These are huge, terrifying monsters that look like humans but are much more terrifying. They devoured almost all of humanity. The survivors hid behind massive walls. Eren is a boy who wants to see what lies on the other side of those walls. He thinks it will be an exciting adventure. But then a Titan breaks through the wall. Suddenly, it’s no longer a dream. It’s a full-blown nightmare in which humanity could be wiped out.

Hajime Isayama worked on the original manga for a long time. It was serialized in 34 volumes in “Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine” from 2009 to 2021. The series was a huge success. People everywhere loved it. It was adapted into so many different formats. Of course, there’s the anime. But there are also video games, books, stage musicals, and in 2015, two live-action films were even made.

In June, fans were able to admire brand-new illustrations. They were drawn by Tomohiro Kishi and colored by Iku Onishi. They show Mikasa walking toward the tree under which Eren Yeager rests. It’s a truly sad, yet beautiful moment. The illustration was created to mark Studio MAPPA’s 15th anniversary.

The series is truly a huge hit. It’s so popular that it even caused a delay in another series called “Dorohedoro.” There was a six-year hiatus between the first and second seasons of that series. The directors said they had to focus entirely on the final season of “Attack on Titan.” That took so much time that other projects had to wait. This shows once again just how much work goes into producing series like this.
