If you were hoping to play that big space game soon, I have some bad news. There was another announcement regarding the delay of the release date for “Star Citizen Squadron 42 to 2027, as well as news about “GTA 6”, which is generating a lot of buzz. It feels like we’ve been waiting for this game forever, but now it’s being pushed back even further. The team at Cloud Imperium Games explains that they want to avoid the massive hype surrounding Rockstar’s next big hit.
Chris Roberts, the head of Cloud Imperium Games, has sent out his annual letter to fans. He was very candid about why the game won’t be released at the expected time. He mentioned that the studio had planned to launch the game during the major IAE expo this coming November. That was the goal. But plans change.
Roberts explained that the entire gaming world would focus on a single thing when that other big game is released. He described the release of GTA 6 as a “circular saw” of attention. He doesn’t want his team’s hard work to be ignored by everyone. That’s why he made the decision to push the release window back to the second quarter of 2027. That’s a bold move.
This whole situation is kind of funny when you really think about it. Squadron 42 is a game developed specifically for PC players. On the other hand, GTA 6 is currently focused on consoles. Even though they’re coming out on different platforms, the developers are still worried about competing for players’ attention. Everyone has limited time to play, and they obviously don’t want to fight for space in the news.
Some fans are already complaining online about the wait. Others think holding back is a smart move. It’s a difficult situation. Either you release your game and hope it gets noticed, or you wait and keep polishing it. That’s exactly what they’re doing right now. They have extra time to ensure that everything looks perfect by the 2027 release date.
I guess we’ll just have to be patient. I’ve looked at the screenshots, and they look pretty impressive. If they use this extra time to fix any bugs or add more content, it might be worth the wait in the end. What do you think? Is it worth waiting until 2027, or are you slowly getting tired of the constant delays? Let me know what you think in the comments below!
