Things are getting really intense in the latest chapter of One Piece 1190 has been released and features a massive battle. Scopper Gaban is now facing off against Imu. It looks like he’s in for a tough time, but this battle is about much more than just victory. Luffy and Loki have already been beaten up by Imu, so someone had to step in.
“One Piece” is known for its epic, crazy battles. The story has been running for so long that the characters have already faced so many tough villains. Right now, we’re in the Erbaf Arc. This place is huge, which makes everything seem even bigger. There’s been nonstop fighting for several chapters now.
We’ve already seen a wild flashback featuring Rocks D. Xebec. There was also that truly sad story about Brook and Gunko. Now, things are getting even more intense in this second part of the final saga. Imu has actually shown up on the island to wreak serious havoc. The villain lives up to his fearsome name. He took out Luffy and Loki without much trouble. But just when it seemed like it was all over, Scopper Gaban stepped in to save Luffy. He’s trying to buy some time. According to the first spoilers for Chapter 1190, this old-school pirate actually holds his own quite well against Imu, even though he ends up getting seriously injured in the process. But this fight isn’t just about who’s stronger.
GABAN HOLDS HIS OWN AGAINST IMU IN ONE PIECE 1190, BUT PAYS A HEAVY PRICE
According to the leaks, Scopper Gaban engages in a long battle against Imu. It goes on for quite a while. However, he actually loses an arm during the fight. That’s a huge deal.
This guy used to be part of Gol D. Roger’s crew. When he finds Luffy, he doesn’t mince words. In Chapter 1190, Luffy is still tied to a tree. Gaban tells him that he can’t just claim he wants to become the Pirate King and then slack off. He basically says that Luffy didn’t give it his all against Imu. He believes that Luffy didn’t take the threat seriously enough.
Gaban sounds pretty disappointed that he has to help at all. Finally, he sends Luffy far away to safety. Using a special technique, he breaks open the ground. He shifts the entire battle to a deeper level. This way, no one nearby will be hurt by the fight. A clever move by a veteran.
It’s very likely that Gaban knows he can’t defeat Imu. He simply wants to buy time for the others. The villain seems to be winning, mainly because of his new Japanese blade called “Honebami.” In the leaks, that means “Bone Eater.” The final panels show Gaban on the ground. He’s missing an arm from the elbow down. Luffy sees this and is completely shocked.
Just because Gaban lost doesn’t mean it was all for nothing. He bought Luffy and the giant some breathing room. He’s also made it very clear to Luffy just how much responsibility he bears. He’s been doing this ever since he appeared in the Erbaf Arc. He’s put Luffy and his crew to the test time and time again. He even yelled at Sanji earlier because he thought Sanji wasn’t using his full strength. He wants to see if the crew is truly up to the challenge.
Even though he was extremely strict with Luffy, he still believes in him. In Chapter 1190, Gaban thinks about his old friends. He admits that Luffy is the one they’ve been waiting for all along. After seeing Gaban get injured, Luffy will likely change his attitude. Seeing that arm get severed because of his own failure might be exactly the push Luffy needs to get angry and take things seriously.
We’ll have to be patient to see how things unfold. The manga is taking another hiatus. Chapter 1191 won’t be released until August 23, 2026. It’ll be a long wait until we see how Luffy reacts to all of this.
